Learning Spanish has benefited me so much. It has allowed me to connect with my mom’s family, in Colombia, in a way that I couldn’t have if I did not speak the language.
Our family has been part of HudsonWay Immersion School over the last ten years (and ongoing) through our three children. We have been so pleased and grateful to see the growth and development of our children through their education at HWIS. In HWIS, we found an environment that not only provided them with a robust bilingual and bicultural education..
We started this bi-lingual journey in 2018 when we lived in San Francisco. Terrified we could not find placement in a daycare, we applied to every daycare in a mile radius of our home.
Culture is one of those terms that, when asked to define, is extremely difficult to put your finger on. It’s the fabric woven in our everyday beliefs, attitudes and behaviors. Unseen, but ubiquitous.
In the science unit on “plant and animal reproduction” our 5th and 6th grade students developed a model to compare the probability of spawning success in two scenarios.
HudsonWay Immersion School is proud to announce that it has received full accreditation from the Middle States Association – Commission for Elementary and Secondary Schools for both its NY and NJ campuses..
This mural features Henry Hudson (the school’s namesake), Zheng He, Matthew Henson, Amelia Earhart, and Ponce de Leon. Students selected which Spanish explorer to feature based on research and discussion considering the accomplishments, character, and personal qualities of several possible candidates.
