We have been so pleased and grateful to see the growth and development of our children through their education at HWIS. We started this bi-lingual journey in 2018 when we lived in San Francisco. Terrified we could not find placement in a daycare, we applied to every daycare in a mile radius of our home.

This mural features Henry Hudson (the school’s namesake), Zheng He, Matthew Henson, Amelia Earhart, and Ponce de Leon. Students selected which Spanish explorer to feature based on research and discussion considering the accomplishments, character, and personal qualities of several possible candidates.

Students of any age can submit an idea for the school mascot with a drawing, or written response and with the help of a friend or parent. A great idea can come from anyone, no matter what age.
