Our NY 6th and 7th grade students, inspired by Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, studied alliteration and figurative language, and authored poems about their hopes and dreams for the future. This is an excellent example of how middle school English teacher Mindy Poon made learning personal and connected to momentous events of our students’ lives.
