Learning Spanish has benefited me so much. It has allowed me to connect with my mom’s family, in Colombia, in a way that I couldn’t have if I did not speak the language.
Our family has been part of HudsonWay Immersion School over the last ten years (and ongoing) through our three children. We have been so pleased and grateful to see the growth and development of our children through their education at HWIS. In HWIS, we found an environment that not only provided them with a robust bilingual and bicultural education..
We started this bi-lingual journey in 2018 when we lived in San Francisco. Terrified we could not find placement in a daycare, we applied to every daycare in a mile radius of our home.
In the science unit on “plant and animal reproduction” our 5th and 6th grade students developed a model to compare the probability of spawning success in two scenarios.
Grade 5 & 6 Spanish students taking an elective entitled “In the News” learning about the different roles in publishing a newspaper in both Spanish and English.
Grade 5 & 6 students take on the role of MC and provide a half hour bilingual presentation of the months’ highlights for all the students in the school.
