Spanish Newspaper by Students
Bilingual Spanish-English Newspaper “Verde, Amarillo, Blanco” Grade 5 & 6 Spanish students taking an elective entitled “In the News” learning about the different roles in publishing a newspaper in both Spanish and English. They take on roles of different sections of the paper such as Health, Local, World, Sports, and Entertainment. They learn about interviewing, fact-checking, meeting deadlines, and writing stories that achieve different purposes of information or persuasion. They develop their own ideas for articles based on what is currently happening around them. Students created the newspaper name and logo. The first edition is here.
