This spring, both our preschoolers and elementary students had hands-on experience planting and caring for several types of plants including wheat, grass, eggplant, radishes, and corn, learning the names and written characters for all of these plants. Students as young as 2 cared for silkworms, observing how they grew fatter each day on a diet of mulberry leaves through the entire six-week unit. Nothing like hands on observations to develop scientists curious about the world!
