Stirling, New Jersey, January 6, 2020 – HudsonWay Immersion School was recently recognized as the Mid-Size Business of the Year by Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes the overall “success, growth, generosity to the community and overall support” of the Chamber.
Sharon Huang, founder and board member of HWIS, accepted the award on behalf of the school’s faculty, staff and parents. “We are so proud to be a part of the Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce,” Huang said. “Being an active part of the community where many of our students live is an important life lesson. Learning to be a global citizen in the 21st Century begins by engaging with neighbors, friends and businesses right outside your door.”
2020 marks the 15th-year anniversary of the HudsonWay Immersion School, the first independent Mandarin and Spanish immersion preschool – Grade 8 program in the Tri-State Area. The school was founded in the basement of Huang’s New Jersey home in 2005. Today, it draws hundreds of students to its Stirling and New York City campuses.
Chamber President Al LiCata said HudsonWay was “a natural fit” for this year’s award. “Our members continue to grow professionally, support our communities and remain engaged with our chamber. “ The Chamber Awards event was co-sponsored by Couch Braunsdorf Insurance & The Vine Restaurant.
