Welcome Teacher’s College student teachers

For the 4th year, HWIS-NY has partnered with Columbia University’s Teacher’s College to provide an environment for student teachers to get real life experience teaching in the classroom supported by a mentor teacher. In exchange, HWIS benefits from the ideas and additional support that these teachers provide.

Science units on Planting and Insects

This spring, both our preschoolers and elementary students had hands-on experience planting and caring for several types of plants including wheat, grass, eggplant, radishes, and corn, learning the names and written characters for all of these plants.
