HWIS has purchased Scholastic® Literacy Pro, which provides 24/7, personalized access to over 2500 titles for students and teachers to set and monitor reading goals. Data on time spent reading, comprehension and level advancement helps students, parents and teachers support students’ reading advancement. Research shows that students who enjoy reading do significantly better in school.
Scholastic Literacy Pro has many titles in English and Spanish, as well as connections to thousands of print books in classroom libraries. Students have a personalized reading experience, a built-in dictionary with pronunciation, read-to-me audio for select titles, sticky notes, and highlighting. Students get flexibility and choice, while teachers are provided with assessment data on reading readiness and comprehension. With Scholastic Literacy Pro, teachers can monitor reading levels and progress.
