NJ art teacher Christine Maloney developed a project where students in Grades 1-7 were asked to create a self-portrait using watercolor paint. They studied observational drawing making drawings showing backgrounds with one point perspective and shading. The dull gray background is a representation of the pandemic lock down. The colorful masks and objects included in the room represent ideas that helped them through that difficult time. Watch this video slideshow.
