November 6, 2020The identification and selection on the HWIS school mascot is underway. Students of any age can submit an idea with a drawing, or written response and with the help of a friend or parent. A great idea can come from anyone, no matter what age.
On Nov 2, students submitted their nominations for the school mascot with very creative, intelligent and logical reasonings for why they would nominate their particular choice of animal or object.
A school wide election including staff and students will be held on November 13.

On November 12, staff and students of all ages took part in an election to select our new school mascot. The Eagle won the most votes, followed by the Butterfly, the Narwal and the Blue Whale. Students did a great job making a case for each of the animals. But it was the Eagle with its vision, tenacity, strength, speed and power that most students and staff felt was befitting as the mascot. Thanks to all who participated in our free and fair election.
