Spanish After School (Gr 1-6) 

Program Overview
Guided by HWIS’ innovative and proven immersion model, the after-school program uses a project-based approach and theme-based curriculum to best support second language acquisition for students in elementary grades. Each class is designed with interactive learning activities and small group practices to ensure students enjoy learning Spanish. All areas, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, are emphasized in class.

Learning Methods
Elementary students engage in age-appropriate activities that enhance their language skills through interactive and immersive methods. Our program includes a variety of activities such as:
– Stories
– Games
– Art projects
– Role-playing
– Cultural exploration
– Cooking
And more!

These activities are designed to make learning Spanish engaging and fun while reinforcing their language skills in a practical and meaningful context. Students practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish through thematic units that are both educational and enjoyable.

Program Details
Duration: This is a year-long program with rolling registration based on class availability.
Class Times: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm
First Day of Class: Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and Thursday, September 12, 2024
Last Day of Class: Wednesday, May 28, 2025, and Thursday, May 29, 2025
No Class Dates:
– September 19
– October 3
– November 7, 27, 28
– December 25, 26
– January 1, 2, 29
– March 19, 20, 26, 27
– April 10, 17

Registration and Pricing
– Wednesdays and Thursdays: $2,900
– Wednesday only: $1,760
– Thursday only: $1,560
Prices increase per class for later registrations.
If your child is absent, there is no refund.

Payment Plan Information
We offer a payment plan for those who select classes twice a week. Additionally, a payment plan is available for families enrolling siblings. For more information, please contact ksoto@hwis.
