Chess Club – Growing Minds (Gr K & up)

Our novice group are 2x team champion winners.

Our Chess Club maintains a focus, further enriched by the thrill of competitive tournaments – we host three per school year at HudsonWay. The Chess Class is fun, interactive, and engaging! Expert instructors introduce piece movement, tactics, and strategies through compelling narratives, analogies, and child-friendly lessons. The program empowers students by honing their critical thinking skills and teaching them to evaluate the chessboard for strategic positioning, laying a robust foundation for long-term strategic planning. Our students take pride in their weekly accomplishments and marvel at their progressing chess skills!

Note: Please do not enroll in this class if you require early pick up while the class is taking place. We will not be able to have staff leave other children to get a child from an enrichment class early.

This program is exclusively available for HWIS students.

Days: Tuesdays (Novice) & Thursdays (Advanced)
Time: 3:35–4:50pm
Grades: K & Up
Cost: Annual fee, $1,600 for 32 Tues classes ($50/class) / $1,500 for 30 Thurs Classes ($50/Class)
