March 19, 2020The Benefits of Immersion
The body of research in support of immersion education is extensive and compelling. Immersion students develop enhanced executive function, a set of complex cognitive processes that include attention, inhibition, monitoring, selection, and planning. In addition, they exhibit heightened mental flexibility, creative thinking, and enhanced metalinguistic awareness.
Students that are bilingual or multi-lingual take advantage of global opportunities when they enter the job market. Language immersion provides the most effective path to second-language fluency and literacy.
