National Hispanic Heritage month is a time of year when we recognize and honor the contributions of Latino Americans to our culture.

At HWIS we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by connecting with the community and showcasing our talented students and staff in a series of free events for the public.

October 8, 5:00-5:30pm – Storytelling in Spanish with Sarah Mattle and Catalina Fonseca (5th grade students at HWIS) Stories: El Vecindario de Quinito by Ina Cumpiano and Helado y dinosaurios by Eric Litwin. Register here.

October 9, 6:00pm – Zumba Class with Paola Jurado, licensed Zumba teacher. Few words from Paola: “I absolutely love teaching Zumba classes. The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! Come join me, I guarantee you will have a blast!” Register here.

October 12, 5:00-5:30pm – Story reading and craft as part of our “Trilingual Storytime at HWIS series” starting with “¿Dónde está Venezuela? by Nacho Palacios“ with Merian Salazar, followed by a Traditional Venezuela Song: Los chichimitos and a Craft: maracas. Register here.
