Founded in 2005 as the first private PreK-Gr8 Mandarin and Spanish immersion program in the Tri-State area, HWIS is a national leader in the field of language immersion.
HWIS students spend the majority of their early years immersed in the target language, which enhances both cognitive and language development.

Preschool Program (Ages 2–4)
Founded in 2005, HudsonWay Immersion School is a national leader in Mandarin and Spanish immersion education.
Our Preschool program offers a deep language-immersion experience with 100% of the time in an immersion environment for the 2’s program, and 90% of the time in immersion for the 3’s and 4’s program. This fully immersive exposure supports advanced language acquisition while strengthening cognitive development.
Our program is based on the award-winning Creative Curriculum®, providing a hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to learning. Through play, exploration, and discovery, students build skills in language, literacy, math, science, art, and social studies in a developmentally appropriate environment.
Using the Second Step program, students learn to manage emotions, self-regulate, and develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills—building confidence, resilience, and a strong foundation for lifelong success.
This preschool program provides a strong foundation for our elementary program where immersion further develops literacy, academic depth, and confident problem-solving.
