Chess Intermediate (Gr K-6) – NJ

Chess Intermediate (Grade: K to 6)
This class is for those students who have mastered the introductory chess topics and are looking to build on those foundations. Students will learn how to build and execute plans for each stage of the chess game. This class will also focus on examining classical chess games where the instructor will break down the concepts for the students to learn. There will be a “game of the day” selected by the teacher reviewed in the following class.

At Growing Minds, we understand that being good at chess is important but knowing how to teach chess is critical. That is why our instructors are both accomplished players as well as experienced teachers and coaches. They understand the challenges of childhood learning and incorporate elements of Mindfulness and a Growth Mindset approach to their teaching.

No class dates: December 24, 31; Make up class: Mar 11, 2025

Policy for All Classes:
– No refunds will be issued for student absences.
– In the event of teacher absence, a make-up class will be scheduled in advance.
– Late registrations will incur a higher per-class fee if a student joins after the session has begun.
– Certain classes do not accept new students once the session has started.
