HWIS relies on the input, involvement, and influence of its School parents.

We believe that deeply involved parents are one of our greatest assets and ensure the nurturing environment we desire for our students. Parents play a significant role in HWIS culture and are a part of the community which often enables lifelong friendships. Parents are asked to participate in a “Parent Time Commitment”, consisting of regular involvement in a variety of school events, helping to create an active and thriving community. Parents are encouraged to contribute in their own areas of talent and giftedness.

Opportunities include one or more areas of the following:

  • HWISPA Officer
  • HWISPA events such as Autumn Moon Festival, Ice Skating Afternoon to name a few
  • Assuming the role of class parent
  • Parent Feedback committee
  • Yearbook
  • Coordinating fundraising events and initiatives

This year we are requiring that families devote a minimum of 30 hours over the course of the 2016-2017 school year.  Signups are We ask that each family sign up for three categories noting your first, second, and third choice.

Thank you for your continued support.  Feel free to contact us with any questions.
