Dear NY HWISPA Parents:

HWISPA has been active for almost 10 years helping organize events and programs that support the school community.  We are always looking for new things that we think the parents and kids will enjoy and help us continue to build a strong community.  With our HWISPA dues, we have organized and/or sponsored a number of events including:

·       Autumn Moon Festival Picnic

·       Apple Picking

·       Class Parties

·       Parent’s Night Out Event

·       Organize Yearbook

·       End of Year Picnic

·       Children’s Book Fair

·       Lion Dance for Kids on Chinese New Year

·       HWIS Art’s Gala & Silent Auction

·       School Running Group

·       Parent Coffees

·       Teacher Appreciation Week

Historically we have collected money for HWISPA dues, individual class fees and other things separately.  This has led to confusion as parents are asked for money multiple times during the year by different people for different things.

For the 2018/2019 school year, we would like to make things easier for everyone involved.  We are going to lower the total amount of money we collect from each family and collect everything through HudsonWay Immersion School as part of their annual tuition process.

We have set a fee of $275 per child which will cover HWISPA dues, individual class fees and a yearbook for each enrolled child.  You will see this new fee on your tuition invoice.  Once collected, we will continue to sponsor everything above and we will distribute funds out to the class parents for individual class activities.

As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out any of us at HWISPA.

Best Regards,

Andrew McBrien
HWISPA Treasurer

PS. I am so happy that I don’t have to send anymore emails asking people for money!
